The Director of LVDC encountered a pressing issue regarding visitor
navigation within the park. It became evident that the current
guides weren't sufficient, resulting in frequent disorientation
among visitors. Determined to provide a solution, I embarked on a
mission to enhance their journey. Upon examining the existing park
map, it became apparent that it lacked clarity and usability.
Visitors struggled to navigate effectively, often resorting to
asking for directions. To address this, I conceived the idea of
creating a specialized walking map, featuring clearly marked
locations from A to J. This map would serve as a user-friendly
guide, ensuring visitors could explore the park with ease.
To refine this concept, surveys were conducted with visitors in the
park to gather insights on their navigation needs. Many expressed a
desire for additional signage throughout the park. Taking this
feedback into account, I set out to design a new map, complete with
pin locations and enhanced signage. The result was a comprehensive
navigation system that transformed the visitor experience. With the
new map in hand and improved signage throughout the park, visitors
could now navigate confidently, free from the frustration of getting
lost. It was a gratifying achievement, demonstrating the power of
design to enhance user satisfaction and improve overall park
enjoyment.
